August 2018 – Norman Ranslaben

Chuck Ransleben, CPA
"How to Navigate Our New Tax Laws"

Chuck was born in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1967 and moved to Houston in 1977. Growing up on the west side of Houston, Chuck graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1985. His first two years of college were spent at Sam Houston State University. Afterward, Chuck transferred to The University of Texas at Austin, where he completed a Bachelors of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in accounting, in December of 1989.

Chuck married his wife, Terri, in 1992. Their first son, Jack, was born in March 1998 and their second son, Kyle, was born in December 1999.

Chuck’s professional career began with Coopers and Lybrand’s small business tax practice in their Galleria office in Houston. His experience at Coopers and Lybrand gave him the opportunity to take his skills learned in college and develop them further by helping small businesses and individuals with their tax issues. While at Coopers and Lybrand, Chuck was able to work with many clients in a number of different industries including oil and gas, wholesale sales, and professional services.

After leaving Coopers and Lybrand, Chuck worked with two local accounting firms. During that time, he was able to expand his knowledge in small business and individual taxation by working with clients in a number of different phases of development from start-ups to mature businesses looking to transition to subsequent generations. Chuck also represented clients in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.

In January 2009, Chuck ventured out to start his own public accounting practice with a focus on taxation for small businesses and individuals. In his practice, he continues to help small businesses and individuals find the opportunities in our tax laws to help them keep more of what they earn. Chuck also represents his clients with the Internal Revenue Service when it is needed.

Join us Thursday, August 23, 2018 for this networking event, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Cost is $25 with an advanced reservation.

"I'd Rather Die than Speak in Front of a Crowd"

According to most studies, people's number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two. Does that sound right? This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you're better off in the casket than doing the eulogy. ~ Jerry Seinfeld

Do you fear speaking in front of an audience?  You are not alone.  Join us for "I'd Rather Die Than Speak in Front of a Crowd" by Chaille Ralph, a graduate and former instructor of The Dale Carnegie Course.
